Monday 01/02/21 Timber!

After checking that the Valley of the Giants, tree top walk would be open today, we decided to explore this area while we could. It took us about 90minutes to drive to the forest. We enjoyed walking through the canopy of these magnificent trees, thanks to the specially constructed walkway, high above the ground. Later we saw these trees from ground level, wandering along a path through the forest.  On our return trip we called into the small, quaint town of Denmark and had some lunch from the award-winning bakery. (They seem to have quite a few of these types of bakeries in this area.) Back in Albany we visited the Chainsaw timber sculpture park. This park is quite remarkable. The artist has set up a “drive-through” park, full of his magnificent timber sculptures. I’ll let the photos do the talking. (We’re going to stay here in Albany for the 5 days we’re booked in and just review the Covid situation then to decide what we are going to do.)
