Friday 29/01/21 The day we were called a “Wobbly”
We departed Nullarbor Roadhouse around 8AM and didn’t travel that far before we decided we needed to stop at least at one of the Great Australian Bight lookouts and enjoy the beautiful view, despite the overcast conditions. From there we travelled to the WA/SA border. We were the only people at the border stop. We had a lovely female police-officer from WA who checked our G2G (good to go) pass and happily allowed us into WA. She was working at the border, near Eucla for 2 weeks and was from Norseman. We then had the van checked by another woman for fruit and vegetables which we’d managed to dispose of or eat before. We had to wear a mask while all this was being done and the police-officer told us that you could buy good coffee in Eucla, so we headed there and stopped for both coffee and fuel! We continued on and made good time (as we gained an extra 2&1/2 hours, today) and there were quite a few roadworks happening along the Eyre Highway. At one stage we were stopped by a “lollipop man” and he had a chat to us while we were waiting. He then spoke on his two-way radio and told the other person that there was a “wobbly” waiting to come through…..that was us. It is how they describe vehicles, towing caravans! Rob was happy to keep driving and we safely made it to Balladonia Roadhouse and Motel. A place famous for having part of the Skylab fall on it in 1979.

T(oo) easy! ;)
