Friday 19/02/21 Another Big day of Driving

We were up early and so took off from Mudura around 6.45 am.  Driving was not too bad although once again we had a strong cross-wind. Conditions were comfortable, around 25 degrees compared with the mid-40s that this area had experienced yesterday. We called into Eucla for fuel and coffees and met up with the lovely young girl who had impressed us on the way over. She remembered us…..I think it was the pink hair! We drove into a couple of clouds of locusts which created a huge mess on the car. Rob was happy to keep driving, and especially because we “ lost” 2 and ½ hours today due the time difference between SA and WA. Coming into Ceduna, we had a very quick check of fruit and vegetables at the checkpoint and that was all. No police, no covid checking. We have settled into an absolutely beautiful park, right on the foreshore of Ceduna. The facilities and pool are what you would expect at a 5 star resort. We decided to book into the park for 2 nights and do some washing, shopping and cleaning (especially of the car and caravan) tomorrow, before heading to Eyre Peninsula for some more exploring. We finished the night by visiting the magnificent Ceduna Foreshore Hotel/Motel, rebuilt in 2007, and treating ourselves to a delicious seafood platter. Would have to say it was one of the best we have ever had!
