Monday 15/02/21 Fantastic Fitzgerald River National Park
We headed out with a packed lunch and drove the short distance to the eastern side of Fitzgerald National Park. After paying the park day fees of only $8 for seniors we started exploring and were not disappointed at all. Again the infrastructure that has been put in at many of the stops is just exceptional and we don’t begrudge paying the park entrance fees. We visited many beautiful beaches, lookouts and several of these were accessible to wheelchairs. Once again the inlet did not have enough water in it for kayaking but we enjoyed several long walks along beaches. We had lunch at Four Mile Beach and the water looked so good there that we were nearly tempted to have a swim. The temperature was around 30 degrees. Returning to Hopetoun, we visited the Old Port Hotel for a drink. The pub was 120 years old and had many old photos and information about the early days of Hopetoun, so I was in my element! If you are ever over this way we would thoroughly recommend visiting this National Park.

PS from the tech guy. Helen got a message in messenger from a "Ryan" she didn't know. We opened it to read Ryan was the barman at the pub we had a drink at and Helen had left her handbag on the window ledge. So good of him. We drove down and collected it, all this on one drink!!
