Saturday 06/02/21 Denmark WA

After a leisurely morning we packed up the van and headed for Denmark which is only 50km from Albany. We found a lovely caravan park, a short distance from the centre of town and on the banks of the Denmark River. There are magnificent trees all through the park and lots of lovely grassed areas. We went for a drive after lunch, exploring parts of Wilson’s Inlet as well as the spectacular Ocean Beach. Unfortunately the weather has not been kind and we really haven’t had any suitable days for kayaking despite many protected bays, inlets and rivers in the area. We hope to do some more drives among the beautiful forests tomorrow although they are predicting 30 to 50ml of rain so we will just have to wait and see. Denmark is a very quirky town with many retreats, organic farms and quite a few people who live alternative life-styles. Returning to the caravan park, Rob and I went on “The River” walk and took in the delightful views of the river and trees.
