Sunday 07/02/21 Wet, Wet, Wet, WA
As predicted the rain started during the night, very gently but very persistent. Golf and kayaking were not going to be on the agenda today so we decided to do some touring including some “off-roading”. Our first drive, Scotsdale Tourist Drive, took us through beautiful forests, farmland and past many wineries. After completing this we drove to a place called Peaceful Bay. I had thought we might spend a night here if the weather improved but we ended up exploring all we wanted to while there. Rob was happy to do some 4x4W driving around some of the tracks in the Walpole Nornalup National Park. Besides seeing Peaceful Bay at its most unpeaceful, we visited Point Irwin and The Gap. Rob must have been feeling confident in the soft sandy tracks because he allowed me to drive on some of them! We returned to Denmark and headed for the 2nd Bakery in town as Rob needed to compare the pies. (It was even so wet and cool that I decided to have a curry pie to warm up.) In the afternoon with the rain still falling, we drove out to the opposite side of Wilson Inlet from where we visited at Ocean’s Beach yesterday. I did the driving this time to give Rob a break. The rain eased up a little and we managed a short walk on the Inlet side and then a slightly longer one on the ocean side at Anvil Beach. I wonder if you can pick which is Anvil Beach from the photos.
