Sunday 14/02/21 Hopetoun

We left beautiful Bremer Bay and headed for the small coastal town of Hopetoun, a distance of approximately 200kms. We settled in to a lovely bush caravan park situated on the coast but very well sheltered from the wind. The bird-life here is amazing. After setting up, we drove to the nearest bakery so Rob could once again check out the pie situation. We went for a short coastal drive and then headed for Culham Inlet to see if it was possible to kayak on it. Unfortunately it was not as it was far too shallow. From here we drove out to a canoeing spot on the Phillips River which is one of the rivers that feeds the inlet. It too did not have enough water in it to kayak so we returned to the caravan and went for a lovely long walk along the beach adjacent to the park. We will be heading to the eastern side of the Fitzgerald River National Park tomorrow as we have heard that it is very picturesque.
